HL shutting down

  • HL shutting down

    after playing 5 minutes of HL, everything is fine, until suddenly, the hd goes crazy and it(half life) exits, all within a split second.... no error message or nothing..... what could be wrong...

          It could be the 75mhz fsb, many perifs don't like that setting (37.5mhz pci)

            i have a 100mhs fsb... but it has been working fine, until recently..... i dunno what i have changed !?!?!

                  What size AGP costs(stands) in BIOS?
                  What version of drivers? (specially for ALI)!!

                    actually.... i think its fine, the problem only happened in d3d.... im using OpenGL, its very slightly slower, but i think the quality cancel's it out....

                        now im pissed, wtf is wrong, it doesnt even work in OGL now... just goes back to windows after a while.. any suggestions are good... plz help...

                          Nehal, the k6-2 266 run on a 66mHz buss... raising it to 100, well, that cpu just won't do it.

                          Run the cpu back to default (voltage and speed) and make sure all is well with your cooling. Also you may wish to try setting the AGP aperture to 128 and or 256 and see if that helps.

                          A whimping out PS coould potentially cause this also.
