  • D3D acceleation not available in Win2k

    Man...
Tried everything from uninstalling and reinstalling both Matrox Drivers(from 5.04,5.10, and 5.11), Direct X6 - even version 8(Just for Win2k) but D3D and AGP acceleration from Direct Diagnostic tool still reports its unavailable!
Direct Draw Acceleration works but without the main D3D acceleration support, Software emulation kicks in and it stinks.
    Anyone knew what geevs?

Win2k and Matrox diagnostic reports my AGP and is wokin' fine at 2x(and FYI my Motherboard's bios has been set at 2x AGP).
My P2 450 SE440BX is a Dual-boot with Win98 and Win2k. Kinda hassle to switch OSes just to do work and gaming!
Well, until I could figure out what's happening, Dual-boot is gonne stay.

oh, and I've tried Direct X website, well still nuthin' helpful, really.

It seems that your desktop is set to 24bpp colordepth ... use 32bpp instead since 24bpp is not HW accelerated.
Despite my nickname causing confusion, I am not female ...

also make sure that your apeture size in the bios did not accidently get switched to 4 megs, when it gets that low AGP shuts off.

Maggi nice call on the 24 bit angle also
