There have been several IRC channels for Matrox.
      #matrox
      #g200
      #g400

Unfortunatly, little good went on there. Mostly nVidiots spamming, telling us what crappy cards we have.

      Not worth the time....

As far as I know, there is a Matrox chatbox somewhere on IRC (ask R0M or Kruzin about it).

But the idea's been given before, and who wants to sit there as Ops? 24 hours a day as well? For such a box to work, you'll need about 24 Ops, 2 for every 2 timezones, being ready to be online in the chatbox for at least 2 hours every day, including weekends and vacations. See what I mean? One or two Ops won't work, as we've got people from all over the world in the MURC.

And even when you set something up and got the Ops, how do you explain your problem to one Ops and let him/her explain things back to you, when there's 40 others in the room at the same time? 1 on 1? Yeah, right.

        Try it once, I'd say.

Jord, chatting in chatboxes to relax.

I don't remember. It's been quite a while since I even fired up IRC. I don't know if these rooms even exist any more.
            I think it was usenet...

Usenet is the news groups. Probably you're thinking of undernet.

Anyway, on Jorden's point - you don't need Ops on all the time. You can have a nice little bot that auto-ops the correct people when they log on, and boots idiots otherwise (anyone who says nvidia way too much, or who spams, or who USES ALL CAPITAL LETTERS).

Not hard. All the warez-ers manage to come up with these bots, you'd think we could as well...

I'm the least you could do, oh yeah

              I would still get screwed
