Motocross Madness 2: fresh install and different DirectX didn't work :(

I formated my HD and installed Win98SE this week.
I installed the version of DirectX 7 that comes on the Motocross Madness 2 CD but it didn't help. The textures are still messed up on most of the Stunt, Enduro and Supercross tracks on my G200.

Yeah, where's the fix for this???

I haven't tried any drivers newer than 5.3 yet because I've seen my 2D slow down considerably in the past by installing the newer ones.
Draging stuff around the desktop would just chunk really badly.
Other people have said that they don't help the MCM2 texture corruption at all anyway.

Well, I got sick of waiting and bought another Intel 740 from a local show for $18. This will allow my son to play the game on his PC and we can finally duke it out on the home LAN. I'll keep the G200 for awhile but it can't go in any of the home PC's until there's a fix.
