  • Earth 2150 to jaggie

I've just bought the game "Earth 2150". It's a very nice game, and the graphics are excellent.

My only problem is that the game actually looks nicer on a V2 card then on my G400 ! (oh no). The terrain is very nice, but the buildings and vehicles have very jagged edges, and doesn't look nearly as good as the smoothed (the infamous voodoo blur filter effect (no not FSAA )).

Is there "a cure", or do I just have to live with it ?

My system is : Athlon 500@600, ASUS K7M, 128 MB RAM, G400 16 MB singlehead.

I play at 800x600 with everything on. What FPS do you get at 1600x1200 (the test in configuration), can't be that much I would guess.

under win me i got 31fps, under win2kpro i get 20fps so i have to run at 1280x1024 instead, you really should be able to run at 1024x768 with your setup.

I guess I could run at 1024, but 30-40 FPS just isn't sufficient in my oppinion. In 800x600 I get 80 FPS instead, much nicer.

I tried 1024 and above just to see how it looked. It looked good indeed, but the game should also look good in 800x600, since it looked ok in 640x480 on the V2 card.

Try running it in 800x600 and you'll see what I mean. And if you know a Voodoo owner, try checking it on his machine, and you'll surely see the G400-jaggies that I talk about.
