  • G400 Lockups on all OpenGL Games

Dang It! I knew I should of spent more on that GeForce! At any rate, specs are:
    G400 32MB
    AOpen AX63 Pro (VIA133)128MB of PC100 RAM
    Celeron 366 o/c 550
    Aureal 2500
    Acer 50X
    NetGear FA310TX
    Diamond SupraMax 56K
    Maxtor 6.1GB
Just got this sucker today. It runs all D3D games but no OpenGL Games. Used PD 5.52 Drivers and PD 5.41 Drivers, but no go. I think it's the Side-Banding. How can I disable it? But outside of Side Banding, could someone give me some more options to try. Oh, I also am running the latest VIA 4in1423 Drivers (AGP 4.03)

Download the latest drivers, 6.x or something. They are betas, but work great with your system.

I don't know what kind of monitor you have... but if it is an very good 19" Sony Trinitron or something, just go out and swap the cards... you will be VERY sorrow

              Ha Buds,
All systems go now. The Problem was the TurboGL Drivers. After poking around the web and trying many different Power Desk drivers, I forgot to run the TurboGL on one particular driver (PD 5.40) and Quake II ran. Then went back to the most recent which was on my Driver Disk (PD 5.52) without the TurboGL installation again, Quake II still ran. Then tried the TurboGL one more time, it locked up again. Went to the QuakeII folder and deleted the Matrox TurboGL Driver (Opengl32.dll), and it was up and running again. The only OpenGL game that will run for me with the TurboGL Driver was Halflife, in which the TurboGL installation program installed it in the wrong folder and I had to manually put it in the Sierra/HalfLife/gldrv folder. Pass this info on to anyone with like problems. Thanks for the Help. I'm now starting to love the card. Now I need a faster CPU to speed smooth my frame rates. I average 45fps (146 core/191mem)in UT. Any higher I get the dreaded spots and color patches, showing me I'm a little to far on the overclock. But it has never locked up though.
