  • Again, whats your 3DMark 2000 results?

    I've just installed PKYs G400 V1.5 drivers,

    Athlon 500@700 128Mb

    5.22 = 2987
    V1.5 = 3127

    Athlon 500@728

    V1.5 = 3170

    Whats everyone else getting ?
    Cheers,

    3D Mark 2000 hates my system

    look at my results:

    This was taken on a Celeron 366 running Win2k, with 128MB RAM and a G400 vanilla 32MB DH. 32bit z-buffer and busmastering are on. I am running on a BX chipset, and games itself run just fine. It's just 3DMark2000 that hates my pc.... anyone has any suggestions? (I will get a Coppermine 600E@800 next week, and also another 128MB.

    P.S.
    I am running the 5.06 drivers, but I got the same results with an older driver. What the hell is going on here?!?!?! (and please, don't laugh too loud at my score!)

      I just reran the test, this time without ICQ loaded in windows (saving 10MB of RAM), 32bit z-buffer in powerdesk options tab disabled, and my colour-depth set to 16-bit. Now I get these results running the defaul benchmark:

      Still not very high, but alread 1000% better than the last one... I don't think it is the RAM, since taskmgr says that only 117MB was the maximum that was in use after running the benchmark. Maybe it just in win2k and the matrox drivers. I know my CPU is slow, and that 3DFarq2K heavily relies on SSE (as well as the matrox drivers), but this just is rediculous!

      Can anyone verify these scores on a low-MHZ system, running win2k?

        I couldn't even run 3DM2000 in W2K, it keeps crashing at the hoptercopter bit.

        Your rams fine, notice your not getting 64Mb Texture rendering to work. Try setting the AGP memory in the bios to 128/256 (thats what mine is at and it deffinently added speed!). Also disable the 32Bit Z buffer, you shouldn't notice it much in games and adds speed.

        Use MGATweek and set it up right, try for 160/200 with the clock dividers altered and the auto correction off. Also tweek the memory settings for more memory bandwidth.

        That Celeron will realy hold the card back, heres someone elses, notice its still scalling past my 728Mhz and his isn't tweeked as hard!

        I got 3230 Default
        K7 900 2/5 128megs
        G-400 vanilla @ 180

        P3600@800 sounds V good.

                  dZeus,

                  Someone on the 3DFiles board was getting about 1000 with a 3DFX V3000 (not far of a G400) and an AMD K350-400 (can't remember exactly).

                  The G400 loves a CPU above 600Mhz

                  How does the comp cope when playing games ie do you notice that its running real slow?

                            Quake3arena runs very well in multiplay online with 10-15 players on a map, with 16-bit colour z-buffer and textures and at 800x600, with everything else at max (except bilinear filtering i.s.o. trilinear).

                            UT used to run very well at 16-bit 8000x600 with the 4.05b D3DDrv.dll, but 4.20 sucks, and I refuse to run fullscreen if I replace the D3Ddrv.dll with the 4.05b file.

                            When I upgrade to a Coppermine 600@800, I hope to run Q3A at 32-bit and 1024x768, or if that does not run fluent enough, I will settle with 800x600 abnd everything max.

                            I must say that win98 ran my games much more fluent than win2k does.
