Best Win98SE G400 gamming drivers ?

This has probably already been asked but whats the best preforming driver version mix etc for Win98SE?

so basically the latest drivers r best imo

Just installed PKYs G400 V1.5 drivers.

5.22 = 2987 3DMark 2000
V1.5 = 3127 3DMark 2000

Thats 4.6% more.

No muchups in DX or OpenGL.

Athlon 500@700 128Mb

Athlon 500@728 = 3170 3DMark 2000

Not bad, wish I had a better fan to goto 750/800 though.

Don't forget the 5.55 drivers! They are not just for the the Marvel, and gave me about a 10% improvement in D3D performance.

Really? I guess I'm confused. I thought the 5.55 drivers were really just 5.52 with added Marvel support. I guess I'll check them out.

P.S.: The fact why nobody answers has two reasons, first they are afraid of third party driver mixes (and don't seem to like my driverpack) and/ or they don't know about it because nobody talks about it!

I've just started using your 1.5 version of your drivers, I have seen a substantial jump in 3Dmark2k results only if its kept to 16bit colour, if I enable 32bit colour then the results are worse than 5.52.

I'm going to keep these for a while and do some more tests, but I really like what I've seen so far! Any more version comming out?

Sure, there will be new versions coming out but I depend on Matrox and GigaByte a bit. I intended to make one or two releases with each new driver I can get (from Matrox and GigaByte). This will continue as long as I've got a PC with the G400 running so that I can test the new drivers or until Matrox gives up on G400. Please note, that my first goal is to make the drivers stable and running with most apps by also adding some goodies like the glide wrappers and stuff coming. Second is speed and speed as well as the things (except the goodies) mentioned before depend on the drivers I get from Matrox or GigaByte.

Thanks for trying them and yep, I'm glad you like them. BTW another advantage of these driverpacks (small one though) is that the size is smaller than Matrox official packs because I left out the G200 drivers and some different stuff not needed.
