  • Kruzin - How's your performance with the new HL patch?

Mine went from about 45~70 FPS at 1024x768, TurboGL, to 15~25.

I've already tried reinstalling, and reenabling the tweaks for the G400. No good.

If your is working, would you mind sharing how you got it working again?

No hurry, I've a V5-5500 in the other PC... Mmmm... If you want to game, and you need visual clarity, the V5-5500's the card to get. FSAA is all it's cracked up to be, especially in HL.

Ok, so I'm not Kruzin, but I know a bit about HL...

I'm still slightly down on fps from be4 the patch, but net_graph 0 helped lots. I expect if you tried it on your 3dfx card your FPS would be killed even more, ppl have dropped to below 10 on Voodoo 3s.

The new netgraph seems to be really messing something up.

The new netgraph is very laggy.
      net_graph 0 = does not slow fps
      net_graph 1 = slows fps a lot
      net_graph 2 = slows fps a lot more
net_graph 3 = very little drop in fps

Unfortunately, I can not get CS beta 6.5 to work at all. TFC 1.5 works fine.

I'll try turning off the netgraph now...

Yep, that was it. Turn it off, things go back to normal. Turn it on, things go in the toilet.

        Great...

The V5-5500 with Metabyte's WickedGL driver handles it with aplomb. I get 35 to 100 FPS when in 4x FSAA mode, 800x600, and the game looks incredible (I get 35 FPS when staring at a wall??).

        Thanks.

We did some TFC and CS at the LAN party this weekend. All ran fine, but nobody was using netgraph. It's good to know there is a prob, so I can avoid using it...

I like it. It seems to run smooth and fast. There is one problem though, it now chucks me to the desk top from time to time. After that I have to reboot to get back in to a game. Doesn't happen often, once in a 3-4 hour period.

Also, not sure if I like the die to change class stuff. But not a big deal...
