  • [HELP] Soldier of Fortune stuttering problem

    I previously had a Celeron 500 at default clock. I used to play SoF at 1024x768x32bit with all visual settings to max. Now I finally found a Celly2 566. An easy 850mhz overclock. No problems at all with all games (Q3, UT, HL...), except that with SoF. With the *same* previous setting I have a big stutter problem (expecially using the IR goggles). The only way to solve the problem is to set default settings. I can also switch to 800x600, but not above (without touching anything from default settings).
    I tried different drivers version and bios setting (AGP, memory...). I also tried to disable V-synch, palettized textures...
    I guess it's something related to switching from 66mhz to 100mhz FSB.
    Anybody had the same problem? Any solution?
    Thank you.

    ...the performance stutters a bit when I´m
    using the NV-goggles;
    Perhaps it´s just made by the proggers of SOF, higher skill when using the item?!?

    In Quake3 I also use the highst settings & I´ve very nice fps when I play, but every
    3-6 seconds the whole game stutters for
    about 0.1-2secs... very bad when railing;
    Perhaps the same prob YOU have with SOF...!

    may the man (or woman?) who knows to fix it reply soon!

      I had the same problem with Q3. I solved disabling "autor sdrarm settings" (something similiar) into the bios.
