  • Quake3 WAY too Dark!

I had this fixed at one time and forgot how when I reinstalled. How do I brighten up Q3? I know it has to do something with having to be in vertex mode, but what else? Right now it is sooo damn dark I can hardly see the screen.

Another question: I downloaded some demos from the CPL and want to play them back in Q3. Can someone please tell me how to do this? I tried typing demo blah.dm3 and it looks as if it is doing something then it just sits there. Do I need to make a demo folder? If so, where do I need to make it?

Do you have win2k? If you do the hardware gamma does not work. You can use software gamma by entering:
    r_ignorehwgamma 1
Now you can adjust the gamma and intensity. Mine are set at:
    r_gamma 1.8
    r_intensity 1.2

The demos should work if they were recorded with the same version as yours. Older or newer demos will not work. The version of Quake3 that is the newest is 1.16n There is already a demo folder. It should be at c:\Quake iii\baseq3\demos The demos option is in your menu in the game. So what ever demos you have in the demo folder should appear in the demos menu.
