Heavy Gear 2 and G400

Just installed Heavy Gear2, changed my key config and resolution and the game will now run right. It runs, but It looks like trash. I has some sort of flickering layer in the mid section of the screen, I can't really explain it. If anyone has any information, please contact me.

We need your complete system specs. Then I'm sure your prob will be fixed. I have played the demo of HG2 on my system and it was very cool, if not a bit to hard for me.

have you tried it in lower resolutions? Maybe 640x480 and 800x600. I am thinking a synch problem with the monitor. Have you setup your monitor properly in windows and in Matroxes control panel. I guess other games dont have this problem, or you would have mentioned it. If all other games work, then it is a prob with HG2. If not, maybe someone can help

I have similar flickering and texture problems on my system:

Athlon 600 on Epox K7 motherboard
Matrox g400
DirectX7.0(4.07.00.0700)
Win98se
192Mb PC-133
SB-live!

I have tried many resolutions including setting my windows desktop to 16-bit colour. But I have not tried reinstalling DirectX6.1...what Dx version are you using, Velocity?

Problem solved...

Thanx to Shin Psyduck from the Heavy Gear News Network forum for suggesting that I revert to the 5.41 powerdesk drivers from the 5.52 version. This fixed all my display problems in HG2 and I did't even have to uninstall DirectX (phew!)
