  • Quake3 & Win2000

Hope I'm not flogging a dead horse here, but...
Installed Win2K last night. Wasn,t too painful. Matrox drivers (PD5.04) went on without any drama's.

Now when i play Quake3 now, i get wierd 'aliasing/lines'(i probably didn't describe that very well) in the shadows under weapons & in explosions etc.

Is this a common problem? Are there any resolutions for this issue?

As a bit of a side point, the Matrox over clocker doesn't seem to work on W2K. Are there any utilities that work with W2K?

    Cheers,
    Giskard.

That is a bug in the ICD. Disable marks in the walls and it will be fine (altought you loose very much of the cool looking effects).

Powerstrip or MgaTweak will work in win2k.

as i remembered this has been discussed before and it is a known problem for the win2k driver
and i think someone suggested to set r_ext_compiled_vertex_array to 0
(find seta r_ext_compiled_vertex_array in q3config.cfg and set to "0").. but i think this will slow down the game..
