G400 + Epox K7X can't do Quake III/Demo

I am having problem getting the above program (both demo and game)to run on my PC.
Can anyone advise on how to get this running on my machine with the below configuration?
Or anyone had it running in this config?
Game hang up on initial screen.

PC Configuration as follows;
Epox K7XA Via 133 MB (Bios 10 March 2000)
AMD Athlon K7 650 Mhz (Non OC)
Via AGP 4.00
Samsung PC100 128mb RAM
Matrox G400 32mb DH (Powerdesk 5.52, Turbo GL 1.3)
Creative Vibra 128 Soundcard
IBM 20.5 Gb, ATA 66
PowerSupply - Leadman 300W
Recently installed Win98SE

Can U run any other OGL app/game? Does it simply drop back to the desktop or crash, etc.? Specify please
