G400 win2k and half-life

I play a lot of counter strike (it is a half life mod in case you don't know) and ever since installing windows 2000 I've had to stop playing. The reason is that the windows 2000 Matrox G400 drivers give me 10 to 20 less fps than I got with the same hardware configuration under win 98.
Everything else seems just fine...

Will I have to wait for new drivers for fast half-life under win2k or is there a setting that I'm missing?
