Have u guyz tried to enable the detailtexture line in UnrealTournament.ini under the label [D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice]

It sure does look like bumpmapping

Yes, but it's not. It's just an extra layer of higher detailed textures that the engines substitute when you get close enough to an object (say a wall, for instance). And, it seems to kill framerates if enabled.

well, it doesn´t on my system. Not in the timedemo or actual gameplay. i don´t notice a slowdown due to more memory use either.
I didn´t assume it was bumpmapping. it just doesn´t have the same real feel to it.Besides it would have been hyped about

          hey,
          i have 256mg and a max
          i enabled detail textures
          and 32bit textures..
the game runs fine but, when i go close to a wall theres a slight judder... but its so noticeable when the rest of it is smooth

i guess ive either got the cache wrong and its accessing somthing or i shouldnt have enabled 32bit textures

i run in 1024x768 high world and skin settings in 32bit
