  • Half-Life crashing on Exit

OK heres my problem. Whenver I play Half-Life online in OpenGL (regular ICD) and then try to escape out of the game I see a little bar that says Half-Life in front of the screen. Then when I try to rejoin a game it just crashes. Or If I try to exit out of Half-Life properly it crashes with and "unknown" error. It doesnt do this in D3D I dont think. Also I cant seem to get TurboGL to work. Any tips are appreciated!

    Thanks,

So anyone got any ideas or had the same problem? I can play in D3D without problems but the FPS is lower and I cant see Decals in it. (WTF?)

    Thanks

      What drivers are you using?
The error on exit was a known problem with the 5.50.005, but has been fixed with 5.50.010.

I have the very same thing happen when I play in OpenGL. Half-Life crashes its way out. Not the worst problem as at least you still get online :P
I am running a PIII 450 with the latest beta drivers.
For those of you that followed my problems the last few days, turns out that I had to force AGP 1x and all works fine now. I thought of everything else but somehow forgot about the agp thing, I even still had the reggy files in my driver archive. 4 days of crap solved by a dbl click. aieee!
Interesting thing is, last night my secondary pc lost its power supply, wtf? cursed.

Where can I force AGP 1x? Maybe that would be my problem.

              Thanks

You can force 1x by downloading the registry hacks, found on MURC's d/l pages, and apply the hack called forceagp1x.reg...
