  • Q3A results with the new drivers

    Win98:

I went from the 5.41 driver to 5.50.010.

    5.41 with TurboGL: 54.6 fps
    5.41 with ICD: 39.8 fps

    5.50.010 with TurboGL: 54.1 fps
    5.50.010 with ICD: 53.6 fps

All results are the highest one after several consecutive timedemo runs, with com_hunkmegs set to 152.

    Win2000:

Previous driver - Q3A crashed at start.

New driver - started just fine. Looked at the System settings, checked the Driver Information then tried to do a timedemo. The system locked up while I was typing "demo ..." on the console.

I've been playing online for a while now with the new G400 Win98 drivers, they seem to be flawless.

The best of all is that I can finally Alt-Tab out of OpenGL games once again.

    This new ICD rocks!

The OPENGL performance of the Win2K drivers seems to be about 10% below the turbogl dirvers. NOT BAD

        Q3A 1.15c, 800x600 High-Q,bilinear, 32bit.
        MAX-1 detail MAX detail
        Win98 TGl : 54.9 FPS 47.0 FPS
        Win2K 5.01: 49.4 FPS 44.2 FPS

        Gammacorrection still doesn't work

Keep up the good work Matrox!

Must say im very impressed by the speed of theese new Win2k drivers in Quake3 and UT...

i've got a Sblive value, and i don't have the problems with q3 you discribe, the walking sounds as usual and i have machingun sound... using the drivers that came with Win2k final.

the only issues with Quake3 is a few graphical ones... problems with a few models and some lights...
