  • New Drivers help with halflife/counterstrike

The new drivers are really good... they not only make games run faster... you play better

im not one to brag, but I was playing counterstrike today in 1280 res... i dont know why but whenever i play in 1280(not TOO smooth but playable) i have really good scores...
today i had 28 kills and 9 deaths... every round i was getting most of our teams kills... the other day 25k/7d and 17k/5d
but whenever i play in 800x600 i get very few kills ... cool, eh?

        hahaha... hell no... i got a 15"mon(13.8viewable)
it is kinda hard seeing crosshairs... and completely dissapears on the de_dust map cos its yellow... but it looks good..
i get 18fps normal scene.. and min 15fps during action... unbeleivably very playable... you should try it...

Damn, do you still see your crosshair in 1280? Wheew, you must have one BF monitor then

g200 @1280? Thats unbelievable, I run at 1024 with my G400MAX... Hmm I should try higher I suppose...

What FPS do you get? 12fps?

          G400Max DH on
          PIII-500
          128 Mb ram
          MX300
In case it's a harware problem:
          PIII-500@560, 256 MB, G400 MAX DH on, ABIT BH6, MX300
          Win2K drivers: 5.52

If your crosshairs are disappearing on certain maps because of the general background color, you need to download yourself one of the fancy multicolor crosshairs from one of the HL sites. I think I got mine from planet halflife. My crosshairs are green and red and no matter what the map colors, at least one of the crosshair colors show. Very nice.

1280 with your specs ? sheesh
i might go sus mine out now... but im pretty damn sure its nice and slow at anything over 800... i shall see and post my findings

hmmm well it seems he is pretty correct, it was "playable" (single player) , but personally i prefer smoothness. and i wouldnt like to see how my 33.6k modem handles the res in multiplayer ;-)
