  • Quake 3 and Abit BE6-II

Up to today, I was able to run Quake 3 on my P3-500 and Abit BX6 board. Couldn't run the Turbo GL...but the Open GL that came with Quake ran fine. Today, I upgraded to BE6-II for potential future upgrades. Not overclocking either the board or the Matrox G400. I have always ran the G400 with AGP setting 1/1...months now. Aperture size set to 128. Now, when I try to play...I go into single player mode...loads the .bmps...and all...then opens the first scene and freezes!
Only since installing the new board. BTW...on the BX6...the G400 took up IRQ 11. ON the new board, ATA-66 controller takes 11 and bumped the G400 to 9.

    Matrox G400 Single head.

    Ideas?

    Thanks

Set your AGP ratio to 2/3.

      Thanks...

It worked! Hmmm! Guess that even though the boards are made by same manufacturer...the BE6-II is a bit hotter!
