  • anyone using g400 on win2k?

was just wondering if you have any problems.

does it take some FPS on 1st person shooters?
is the g400 automatically detected? ect.. what are the cons and the pro's

I am dual booting W2K 2195 and Win98 SE, unpon installation, W2K don't auto detect my G400 Single Head, it found a vga card instead, Installed the beta 5.0 driver from this site and everything works fine, only bug I found related to G400 so far is Easy CD Creator 4.0 won't launch when desktop color set at 32bit, 16bit no problem. Most D3D games will run, opengl support from this driver is very very poor.

Since I don't play games in W2K, can't tell you if it is any good.

re:EZCD -- I had the same problem and someone on this forum told me the solution so I pass it on to you : set the desktop colour depth to 16 bit. That works around the problem for me.

      re:games

In my limited testing, UT runs comparably to Win98se (5.50 bete drivers on W98) whereas Half-Life is _much_ slower. Can't figure why.

UT running faster than Half-Life in W2K? Mabye your using UT in Opengl which Half-Life uses. Remember UT only runs good in D3D or S3 Metal on a non voodoo card. ALWAYS run Half-life in Opengl if you can too.
