  • Millenium G200 new drivers with counterstrike

I have never run Half-life (counterstrike) in Opengl mode due to problems. I find direct3d fine anyway. However If I update my Matrox drivers to 5.4 or 5.2 My counterstrike multiplayer scores are white blocks and I can't see any multiplayer info. I have updated my bios and drivers for my gigabyte ga-686bx motherboard ,updated the bios for my G200. If I use the older drivers I can't play quake3. Anyone out there playing both or had this problem. I have read almost every article in this forum and tweeked everything in the halflife console. Has anyone seen this? Please stop me from buying the 250 creative annihilator pro. Pentium 2 350

By the way this happened with Direct X 6 as well as 7 7 is what I have now. I have been dealing with this for a while. It just never bothered me to have older drivers until quake 3 came out. Another thing. With the new drivers I can suddenly run Counterstrike in OpenGL without the white blocks but my FPS and gameplay are significantly slower so I want D3D.

heres the thing, use 5.13 drivers. in d3d, the whiteblocks arent there, and in opengl, it runs faster than d3d. both problems solved, oh but dont run in 640 resolution in OGL cos you'll have trouble getting back to menu screen and you hafta close hl and restart it. dont ask me y.

the white blocks SHOULD be gone in hl in 5.41.008, i dunno. anyway, 5.13 is the best.

I don't think you know how thrilled I am. That did the trick. I really do thank you. I read page after page of forum posts to no avail and was getting quite frustrated. Good job.
