  • Can I get my Max even cooler?

I only use my system for gaming. Gaming means speed which means tinkering which means overclocking which unfortunately means HEAT.

Does anyone have any first-hand knowledge with add-on fans for the Max? I want to have the coolest gaming system I can. But not at the risk of ruining Mad Max.

Has anybody checked the temp on a Max at extreme gaming speeds? I'm kinda curious how hot it gets (or maybe I don't want to know) I tried with my probe but it fluctuated so wildly I doubt it was accurate.

the fan on the max is O.K. unless you want to upgrade to the Tennmax version with the 8500rpm fan then put a blo-hole in the side of your case with a case fan blowing right at the card so the card fan has cool air blowing on it, this will keep your max safe

Personally I haven't sprung for the Tenmax yet. But I've definately got the "blow-holes"! I'm not pushin as hard as "durango" but my entire system barely makes it above ambient temperatures. And the CPU stays in the mid-30°C range even under the heaviest gaming sessions. All it took was a little "work" on my part and a couple of $9 fans.

Well, if you afraid to remove the max heat sink and putt on it an old p166mhz fan+heatsink
        like me
you can only remove it small fan
        and buy a small 40mmfan from 3dfxcool (`10cfm)
i did it and it's fit exacly and it coollllllll
P.S It's going to block one pci slot)-:
