Unreal Tournament Loading times ???

I dont think I have ever had a game load slower!!.
Has anyone else experianced this problem,it takes on average 2 MINUITS tell me this cannot be right "can it"

It does take long, but two minutes is like... ages. Try defragging your drive, setup a fixed pagefile, and select server model in system properties.

It takes 35 seconds to load on my Quantum Atlas 10K drive (128MB RAM)... which is still pretty painful.

I've seen it take that long, if you only have 64MB of RAM.

No im using 128Mb I just think my hard drive needs cleaning up as scytale said.I have'nt got round to it yet but im sure that will sort it out :] thanks Matt :P

Set your swap file to min and max 256MB (fixed size) and if possible reboot onto a fresh formatted partition !

(you could deny that reboot request after changing swap file size and boot into DOS. Format the clean partition and reboot)

Mathew,

Tired of waiting for that exciting intro movie to load once again, just so you can cancel it? Go to your UnrealTournament.ini file, look under [URL]; fifth line down, change to

LocalMap=UT-Logo-Map.unr

Trust me, the logo-map loads much faster than that movie, then hit escape to select game, etc. Saves some time for me.
