  • G200 Marvel + DX 7.0a= D3D Nomore?

    Hello everyone!

    My first time here :-)

There seems to be something about that DirectX 7? Other topics in this forum has kinda indicated something like that ;-)

No D3D-games worked with on my system (K6-2 400 on Tyan 1590, G200 Marvel 16Mb). I reinstalled everything (format c: and so on...) latest versions of everything (software drivers, bios rev. etc) PD 5.30 and finally DirectX 7.0 (swedish version).

Guess what? No difference. All D3D-games causes a bluescreen. Or...the G200 VDX causes it, it says.

This was a VERY clean system...just installed...no antivirus, no nothing running in the background. So...stay away from DX later then 6.x ?

Does this sound familiar to someoneelse?

First off ... Welcome aboard !

    2ndly, I'm not sure, but I think PD5.30 needs DX6 to run properly ...

Did you try PD5.41 yet ?

      Maggi, thanks!

Sure, installing PD 5.41 solved the problem. The reason even went for the 5.30 was that it was supported from Matrox in use with Marvel, and 5.41 made no difference before reinstalling Win95

Anyway, now my system is runnin 100% again. Thanks!
