i want to upgrade my asus p2b to a dual cpu system, p2b-d. i'm currently running a dual boot system and would like to keep it that way. i was wondering if windows98 will run on a dual cpu board (even though it doesn't support dual cpu) and if there is a special version of nt workstation 4 that is made for dual cpu, or are all versions the same and autodetect dual cpu????

    thanks

Windows 98 will run on a dual processor system but will only use one. If you already have NT Workstation installed you'll either need to use the NT Resource Kit to change the HAL to dual processor (this didn't work for me) or the more reliable method of re-installed NT and it will find both processors.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-6BXD. With dual P3-450.
