  • Wierd skipping and lockups

I've had this computer up and running for about a week, I've been getting the same activity. In Quake3 no matter what resolution I'm in I'll be playing (singleplayer) and get milisecond freezes, totaly random. I stop moving, its ok, I move again, its like having tremdendous packet loss, only I'm not online.. I also lock up ALOT, and not just in games. Temps seem within tolerable limits..
any ideas? I can't get anyfurther in Q3 because I can't make it through the level without hitting the power button.

    SPECS:
    Abit BP6
2x366 @ 466 (have changed with no affect)
    G400/32DH
    SBLive! Value
    Maxtor27.2/66

    All the latest BIOS/Drivers
(was thinking of trying to go down to 5.30, think that would help?)

I'm not sure about the lock ups but I too had some problems with the game running choppy because of sound stutter. You could try to disable sound to find out whether it's the same problem. I was able to fix this by setting s_mixahead to 0.4.
The shortest distance between two points is under construction.

      Guato,

try to turn off the background music by adjusting the volume. Set it to 0.

If you have a Logitech mouse, download their latest driver.
