  • New TurboGL rocks!!

Just installed the new TurboGL drivers and they're awesome! Only tried Half-life with it so far but I no longer am the slowest of my friends.

    Results: 1024x786, Cel550/128MB of RAM

    Blowup Demo:

    Before TurboGL: 23.2 and 24.5fps
    After TurboGL: 31.5 and 33.8fps

That's almost 9fps and a 37% increase! Can't wait to try Q3 and Unreal with it - I'll be getting out the beats on everyone!

Looks like Matrox has finally got there shit togather. I am now a prowd Matrox owner and will stick with them, with this kind of service.

      Dionysis,

33fps is faster than a Xentor TNT2U in my system and it's only 3-4 fps back of a fully optimized V3-3000 in my system.

The Blowup demo is comparable to the Q2 Crusher demo in that it's one of the most intense demos around.

"Sorry friend but i think that 33.8 fps for a card like G400 really sucks.
Matrox you gotta do something fast or a lot of people will choose ge-force instead" -

        OR

"Don't get me wrong. I just got my g400max, -which i really love and you're probably right. It's just that almost everybody is calling g400 a second/third class card these days, which isn't true."

So which is it? You just completely contradicted yourself in the same thread...

Or for a change try to buy REAL PC magasines like ZDnet's PCMagazine(i'm sure you can find in you town some Newsagents who sell international magazines).
It seems that you dont know that your MAx is the 3rd most powerful 3d card in the market righ now(after the G-spot ans the new Savage).
              Topiases!!!

Actually, the G400 is much better than the newer Diamond Viper II (based on Savage2000):

-The ViperII D3D drivers are buggy.
-Q3A runs ok, but G400 is faster at higher resolutions (>640x480) and better looking.
-When I dragged windows on my 2D Windows98 desktop, the window movement was actually sluggish!

The Savage2000 may be a good piece of hardware, but it's drivers leave much to be desired.

                  CrisW,

I'm talking about raw power. If i'm not wrong the Savage2000 has the biggest Fill rate in the market right now.....>500Mtextels/sec.
This is because its a next generation graphic
card. And you bet that the G800 will be th eKing again...as the G400MAX was before
