  • Small UT problem

Ok first off my G400 sh 32mb oem runs UT great, looks really nice. But there is a problem with discoloration in the smoke on the secondary fire of the rocket launcher. It only does it with that, nothing else.Does it in 32bit and 16bit color.Besides this small problem UT is sweet on my G400.Anybody have any suggestions?I am using the latest drivers for the G400.

Don't look at me, I still get the same small texture corruptions that I did with the 5.31 drivers....

I really haven't paid any attention to the smoke coloring (always seemed fine, or at least nothing that stood out enough to get my attention). I'm in the same group as vandguardian1 though- still getting the same probs as with the older drivers which mainly consist of textures flashing on the walls in places and some z-buffer probs (such as seeing other players flickering through walls / towers at times- neat advantage, BTW).

          acs48,
How great runs UT on your G400? Mine does not very good at 800x600 16 bit and 4 bots on a PIII500 128 Ram and a G400MAX.
          Any ideas?
That smokeproblem will be removed in the next patch... (tomorrow)
In case it's a harware problem:
          PIII-500@560, 256 MB, G400 MAX DH on, ABIT BH6, MX300
          Win2K drivers: 5.52

FaRaN it runs sweet on my system all but the smoke prob.I havent benchmarked it or anything but i ran it at 800x600 32 bit and 4 bots and had very little stuttering, none on certain maps. When was the last time you defragged your hard drive?Whenever that patch comes out i will do some benchmarks and post them.my system is a P3 450,128mb ram,G400,Mx300.nothing is overclocked or special about my system. But i did put UT on my C: drive which has had nothing but my Win98SE install and a few small apps such as icq.All my games usually go on my slave drive.

Shhhhhhhhh!!! Don't tell matrox about the z-buffer probs, (players coming through the walls!) I use this to my advantage ALL the time! It is actually quite funny to see someone ducked behind a wall and have a bead on the top of their head right when they poke it out.

LOL. I use this same tactic when sniping on CTF-Facing World's (think that's the name) sometimes. Really gets the other guy when they get shot at immediately no matter where they stick their head out.
