  • Quake III Arena a resource pig?

    System: Gateway G6-400 - 400mz PII, Intel Tabor mobo, 128mb RAM, Matrox G400. 5.41 drivers.

    Even set to "fastest" the game runs choppy. Is it me or does this game tax the max out of all resources?

    erm shouldn't be i'm running in 640 and getting 30 fps avg in game and 40 on a timedemo ??

      It's you.

      Or, more to the point, it's your system. You've probably got bad drivers for something else, or a resource conflict, or any of dozens of other things that could be going wrong. What have you already tried? Have you recently reinstalled?

        128 meg pc 66 sdram
        Q3 run @ 1024X768, all the details at MAX
        32 bits
        trilinear filtering
        an average of 22 fps
