  • Q3testDEMO failed to work after MGAtweak

    Hello,

I got myself a G400max last week and everything worked great (superb image quality). Today I tried the Matrox MGAtweak util (to disable vsync), and suddenly my Q3demo doesn't work anymore (it worked perfectly before).

When the little intro-animation should show up, all I get now is a white screen with a very fast scrolling black area on it. But the game itself doesn't crash (i hear the normal sounds, and the keyboard works also fine). My monitor tells me I'm running in 640/400 at 120Hz... (my monitor can handle this resolution perfectly)

I set everything back to the original settings, uninstalled the tweakutil, reinstalled Q3demo, reinstalled directX
(After every step, I shut down my pc for 30 second to make 100% sure everything was reset)

I think it's just a hidden registrysetting that causes the problem... A total OS reinstall would solve this ofcourse, but that's not an option at this moment :-)

Anyone who had thesame problem or tips?

    Thanx,

    BC547

ArenĀ“t you running the desktop at 24 bit or using dual-head? Do other games work fine?

Rema or delete q3config.cfg and see if it works.
