  • Non-TURBOGL QUAKE3 DEMO BENCHMARKS

    Hi All non-turbogl Quakers,

Tonight I tested new QUAKE3TEST DEMO from ID.
    These are my numbers.

    system: P2 400(4x112Mhz),AbitBh6,128SDRAM,G400DH32MB,VOODOO2S LI,SBLIVE,....Win98

    G400DH32MB vsync off,PD5.30,126/168 core/mem
Quake 1.09 ,TIMEDEMO1, game options all "ON" exept "simple icons, sync every frame, force play model", sound HIGH,

1.Color depth 16bit,texture quality 16bit,trilinearfil.,texture detail FULL 4/4 slider, (bilinear)
    640x480-35.5(36)
    800x600-34.4(35.1)
    1024x768-29.1(33.1), tex.detail 3/4=32.6fps, o/c118%=32fps

    2.Color depth 16bit,texture quality 32bit,trilinearfil.,texture detail FULL 4/4 slider.(bilinear)
    640x480-34.4(35)
    800x600-32.6(34.5)
    1024x768-23.8(29.5), tex.detail 3/4=32fps, o/c118%=26.6fps

    3.Color depth 32bit,texture quality 16bit,trilinearfil.,texture detail FULL 4/4 slider.
    640x480-35
    800x600-33.1
    1024x768-24.9, tex.detail 3/4=29fps, o/c118%=29.5fps

    4.Color depth 32bit,texture quality 32bit,trilinearfil.,texture detail FULL 4/4 slider.
    640x480-33.2
    800x600-30.0
    1024x768-21.1, tex.detail 3/4=26.9fps, o/c118%=24.3fps

    note:
    o/c to 118%(Fo=297.00,Gclk=148.5,Mclk=198.00,Wclk=148.5)
causes me sometimes attributes at walls, clouds etc.
o/c 117% (FO=293.14 ....) is pretty stable and without attributes.

voodoo2 SLI with wickedGL 1024x768, all on and full text.details give me 39fps.

    COMPARE WITH ME!

    regards
    JOHN RAMBO

Here's what I have so far.

        System specs:
        ASUS P2B-F
        P3-450, no overclock
G400MAX 32MB, vsync on (can't find a way to turn off), no overclock
PowerDesk 5.30, OpenGL ICD (can't get TurboGL to work even with procedure posted here)
        192 MB PC100 RAM
        SB Live Value
        Win98 SE
All Q3A settings at "normal" except when switching to 32-bit

        Res. Demo1/32b Demo1/16b Demo2/32b Demo2/16b
        --- --------- --------- --------- ---------
        640 32.5 32.2 30.9 30.7
        800 32.1 32.4 30.7 30.7
        1024 30.4 31.5 29.5 29.9

It doesn't cost me any performance at all to run at 32-bit color compared to 16-bit (aka UglyVoodoo DitherVision). Guess that means I'm CPU-limited with this setup.
System specs (well, everyone else is doing it!):

        Asus P2B-F motherboard
        Pentium III 450, no overclock
        G400MAX/32DH, no overclock
        256 MB PC100 RAM
        SB Live Value
        Hauppauge WinTV PCI
        ReelMagic Hollywood+
        USR 56K ISA
        Win98 SE

          16-bit 38.3, 38.9, 38.9

            can i play too
            PIII 450@475 128mg ram
            non turbogl Marvel G400
high quality mode but in 1024x768
with texture one notch from the end

            demo1 57.00 23.00

strangely in 16bit with only biliniear filtering i get
            52.55 26.6
only a slight increase in 16bit 640x480 too
i think the quake 3 code, allthough theres more detail now, is a lot more stable when it comes to running speed

and i was told i couldnt play Q3 with everything on
            on my humble 26mg Marvel
            YAHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
