  • Desktop Colour Depth --> Game Performance?

Will the performance in games change at all depending on the colour depth of my windows desktop or any other things of note?

    Thanks

    Yes, sometimes.
Some games reference the desktop color depth before they go to work. Try turning down to 16-bit before you start the game. This is esp. true for Quake, QuakeII, possibly Half-Life....
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.
