G400 and low res DOS VESA support?

Does the G400 support VESA resolutions lower than 640x480? (examples: 320x240, 400x300, 512x384) @ 8 and 16 bpp? And, even more importantly, can you alt tab out of these modes, and then back in, without (1) the game crashing, or (2) windows crashing? I have a lot of emulators that require these modes, so this will be an important purchase decision for me...

I did read of a TSR for g200 cards that allow vesa modes, but does alt tab work in that (if that is also required for the G400?).
