  • known problem with NFS High Stakes?

After playing for 2 minutes, the game freezes.

It might be a heat problem, but I can play Unreal TOurnament / Quake 3 / Half-Life for hours...

Is there any known bug with NFS HS?

    Thanks!

I haven't seen anything about problems with NFS HS. It runs great on my system (DX7, latest drivers, and updated BIOS). What drivers are you using, and did you try a reinstall of the game?

            While were on the topic...
Anybody know how to get the patched version to run at over 800x600?

Hi Guff, why did you install a patch?

There don't seem to be any problems that would require a patch.

Anyway, a limit of 800x600 sounds like its only using software rendering. This is exactly what happened to me in NHL 99. See if there is any kind of 3D setup utility included in the NFS HS Start Menu folder. Run it and force D3D.
