  • G400 (vanilla) MAXIMUM OVERCLOCK SPEED

    For once and for all, let us put together a survey to see what is the
    maximum overclock speed the G400 (non-MAX) can achieve. I have an extra
    pentium fan with heatsink available. I'm planning to cut the heatsink into
    4 and paste them onto the memory chips but I don't know if it's even worth
    the effort. Anyways, here is my overclock speed:

    DLL - 300
    Main - 150
    RAM - 200

    using MGA Tweak.

    I did the heatsink to memory trick (on both sides) already because if nothing else, it'll make it last longer

            Rickn, did you put a fan & heatsink to the memory chips? What's your setup?

              Paradox, you should go with 2, 1.5, 2 setting as the -5ns memory can go at least to 220

                Aplek: Not to the memory chips, but I did screw an old pentium fan to the G400 heatsink.

                I have a P2B-F and a P3 550. The G400 is OEM with 6ns memory. 200mhz is the cutoff - at 202 artifacts begin, but 200 works great. Can't complain for a card that cost me $150, and kicks the shit out of TNT2 and Voodoo(doo)

                  Good Idea. I'm trying it right now with system PLL at 330mhz... looking for "snow" now...
