Anyone got FS2K yet? I installed it yesterday and got the result I expected. The frame rates were in the 20-47 bracket. The scenery is good but shimmering just a little.

Does Matrox have any advance or advice on FS2k? I have already installed 5.25 drivers. Judging by the posts that have been put around most of the cards, ATI - TNT - Voodoo and others are having a bad time keeping up with what is a very scenery intensive programme.

Does the dual head thingy work effectively?
I was curious about that in Directx games (and want to try it myself) since it wont do this in opengl apparently.

      Frank,

Since I posted I have loaded 5.30.007 drivers and there has been a marked improvement. I still get some shimmering but not as much as before which suggests that some fine tuning is required. I have single head so I can't help you much.
What I can help you with is that DirectX7 works a treat on W98.

Have FS2K running with a G400 MAX on a P3-450. Runs beautifully with all the options and still pulls out about 20 - 30 fps.

          Hi

          I am thinking about upgrading to FltSim 2000 from FltSim 98 AND upgrading my G200(16mg) to a G400. I have a P2-450.

Which G400 do I need (or would be able to use)for fltsim 2000. I have a 19in monitor that I run at 1024x768 for fltsim. Could I run at 1280x1024??

Also what screen resolution did you have for the FPS you quoted.

What is the difference between the 'regular' and 'professional' version of fltsim 2000.

What settings are you all using? I'm dissappointed by my rig's current performance in FS2000, so I must have something set up wrong. Even setting graphics stuff at "normal" (i.e., nothing "dense"), but at 1024 X 768, 32 bit, I'm pulling 15 to 20 FPS, with severe choppiness. Not very enjoyable to play....

Frank....Dual head does work fine...the above situation is with dualhead disabled.
