  • very poor OpenGL performance

    Hi all...
Here's my problem. I have the G400 16M single-head card (got screwed by computergate.com...frickin' a-holes), anyways, whenever I use the OpenGL driver in Unreal the machine basically grinds to a halt. I'm getting maybe 1 frame every 2-4 seconds. If I use the DirectX drivers they work ok with some stuttering whenever I encounter a new texture. I've already downloaded the beta GL driver so that's not the problem. I don't have a clue as to what's causing this. Here's my system specs:

    Celeron 333 oc'd to 500
    96M ram
    abit Bh6 MB
    5.4G HD
    4.3G HD
    6X DVD
    2x2x6 CDRW
    Primary video card: G400 16M AGP/19" KDS
    Secondary video: PCI CL VoodooBanshee16M/15"
    tertiary video:PCI Diamond Stealth S220 4M/ 14"
    AWE64 w/16M ram
    10/100 PCI network card

Any help would be really appreciated.....Thanks!

Unreal OpenGl implementation just plain sucks. D3D is faster is every card out there. But even so, I got 10-15 fps in my celeron 450. What you describe seems like it is using OpenGl software rendering. Be sure you have the following files in your windows\system folder: opengl32.dll, glu32.dll and g400icd.dll.
With all these videocards lying around I would be surprised if there wasn´t any trouble...
