Halflife with a new wrench? you have obviously not played System Shock 2. While the player models are a bit on the ugly side, this game leek's ambiance all over the place. Even playing during daytime with the lights on it still scares the beegeesus outta me a hell of a lot more than Half-Life did. AND it is much more strategy oriented.

I must admit - I think it's great - it's difficult to talk to other players about how they are doing as everybody pays the game differently, different skills, different training....

Every time I trigger an alarm I cack myself - I love it!

SS2 - superb game, utterly superb. The atmosphere is amazing. One of the few games which makes me sweat - and its no high energy shooter.

Even when I do a 'jump in' to show a friend for a demo, I get scared - and since acquiring a 3D sound card - well, I lock the door to my computer room to stop anyone sneaking up on me and making me wet myself.

Oh, and did I mention that its fantastic?

...i too have taken to closing the door so i don't get any more freaked out when someone sneaks up on me (IRL vs in-game) while i have my headphones on.

i haven't been this creeped since alien (the first one).

I'd enjoy System Shock 2 more if the doors didn't keep flickering! That really lowers the immersion factor.

I heard that this is a fairly common problem with the current G400 drivers - is this true?
