  • Quake 1 on G400

    Hi all

I have noticed some people talking about running Quake1 on their G400. How is that possible?
I tried to run GLquake, but it sais I don't have Glide2X.dll (Which is true...).
Is there any way to run Quake1 with hardware acceleration, or is software render the only way?

    TIA

if you delete all opengl32.dll or such files from you QUAKE DIRECTORY (no place else) and delete you GLQUAKE subdirectories i think you will get it, but im not totally sure...

If you want to run GLquake with your G400. Delete glide2x.dll in your windows\system dir or in the game dir. I don't play much GLquake but I still do play QuakeWorld especially Teamfortress. Also it helps if you use -bpp 16 or 32 when you launch the game. I use gamespy, and this what I use to launch. glqwcl.exe -game fortress -width 512 -heapsize 64000 -nojoy -noipx -nocdaudio -bpp 16. I'm still using my G200 on NT4 server. You should get better performance with your G400 and Win9x.
