Just bought the new NHL 2000 and was reading the README and it states for Matrox cards not to use the Direct 3D but use the software renderer instead. I didn't notice this limitation under the demo. I haven't played yet and haven't tried the D3D or the software renderer but thought it was very weird that the best D3D card out there won't work with the best damn hockey game out there!

    Arrrgggg...A Winnipegger missing his Jets!!!

Do this, allow it to use the Matrox G400 which it will find and say it is. Bump up the res to 1024X768 and everything graphics wise MAX and play away with no slowdowns burps or any other probs. then tell EA to .... themselves . Software rendering my ass, im in the middle of a season and everything is fine in D3D.

Well, I looked at the 3D acceleration setup and it does indeed default to the G400. You are right, set all visuals to MAX, 1024x768 and this game rocks...The only thing missing are the Winnipeg Jets. Now all I gotta do is find myself a picture of myself to import into the game.

I've got a Millenium G200 8Meg.....how do I enable tripple buffering in the 3Dsetup program?? The checkbox is greyed out.
        Thanks,

Yah, I know....It just doesn't feel right for some reason. You know when you used to have season tickets and would walk to the games in -30 degree (celcius) with a wind chill that makes it feel like -50, it's hard to give up those memories and watch the team playing where there never is snow.

Hmmmm....Canadian...yup, I'll show you my igloo!!!

              Osty,
It could be worse...like Quebec's team moving
to Colorado and then winning the Stanley cup
              the same year!
