  • Half Life blowup time demo

My scores ranged from 15~ to 17~, ogl or d3d,
    v-sync on or off.Everything on including sound.Res. 1024x768.Gl_texsort 1 is in
    my autoexe.cfg file.
Granted, in actual sp It does look a little better but I would guess no more than the
low 20's as an average. Definately not as good as my old tnt(1).
Imho these drivers need some work in regard to HL.

    5.21 drivers,p2450,192 ram, aureal sound card,max

Try Direct3D. In OpenGL, I got 21fps. In Direct3D, I was getting 27fps with vsync off and _snd_mixahead set to 0.2

My previous V2 SLI rig was getting 30fps, by the way. I can live with a 3fps hit.

      IceStorm,
Did you get those numbers from the blowup
timedemo or did you use developer 1...
      in the console?

The bechmarks of hl are not reliable..
when you look at my scores you can see that:
        5.13
        640x480 21.9
        1024x768 21.4

        5.21
        640x480 18.9
        1024x768 18.5

as you can see there is practicly no differance between 640 and 1024 (i think the diff in drivers are due to vsync, haven't tested that yet), the scores are also way to low, i play hl online alot on 1024x768 and it's very playable!

I did blowup from the console - timedemo demos\blowup

I get variations on the frame rate, but nothing more than one or two FPS for the three resolutions I tried out - 800x600, 1024x768, and 1152x864.
